Frequently asked questions.

Q: Who can attend your courses?
A: Anyone legally eligible to handle or possess firearms in the jurisdiction of your residence. We train people at all experience levels — from first-time shooters to experienced carriers.

Q: Do I need to own a firearm before signing up?
A: No. For many of our classes, we provide firearms (or training weapons) on request. If you have your own and prefer to bring it — that’s fine too, as long as it’s legal and meets safety standards.

Q: What types of training do you offer?
A: We offer a broad mix — handgun fundamentals, carbine training, concealed-carry / enhanced-carry prep, situational awareness, force-on-force drills (including simulated scenarios), vehicle defense, threshold/entry drills, custom courses tailored to your needs, and more.

Q: What should I bring to class? Gear? Requirements?
A: That depends on the class. Generally: eye and ear protection, closed-toe shoes, clothing with belt-loops (if using a holster), a sturdy belt, and any holster or gear you plan to carry. If bringing your own firearm, bring it unloaded, in a secure case. For classes using training weapons (e.g. force-on-force or airsoft), we’ll provide the gear if needed. For some courses: bring snacks, drinks, notepad/pen as needed.

Q: Are you certified / licensed? What are your instructors’ credentials?
A: Yes. LFX is run by a professional instructor with 15+ years of experience, certified under recognized standards (NRA, Tennessee state certification, among others).

Q: Are the classes suitable for beginners?
A: Absolutely. We structure courses to meet beginners at their level. We focus on fundamentals, safety, and controlling the fundamentals before progressing.

Q: What happens during a typical class?
A: Courses generally combine classroom instruction (safety, fundamentals, legal/ethical considerations, situational awareness), gear/holster familiarization, and practical drills on the range or in scenario-based exercises (live-fire or simulated depending on course). The goal is not just marksmanship, but developing skills useful under stress.

Q: Can I take private or customized classes (as opposed to standard group courses)?
A: Yes. We offer custom courses tailored to your personal firearms, experience level, and self-defense needs. Force-on-force, scenario drills, advanced handgun or carbine tactics — if you can imagine it, we can teach it.

Q: What if I’m uncomfortable or inexperienced? I’m not sure I’m “ready.”
A: That’s fine. Many come to us feeling the same way. Our training approach welcomes novices — we don’t expect you to be ready. All we ask is you show up willing to learn and keep an open mind.

Q: How do I register or sign up?
A: Head to the “Classes” section on our site, pick the class that fits your needs, and sign up there. Alternatively, call or email us directly if you prefer personalized scheduling.

Q: What about safety and liability?
A: Safety is our top priority. Every class begins with a safety briefing. Proper range rules, gear checks, and controlled environment practices are enforced throughout. Our curriculum emphasizes safe handling, malfunction drills, and scenario awareness — not just hitting targets.

Q: What if I have more questions not covered here?
A: Reach out directly. Use the contact phone or email on the site. We’ll walk you through prerequisites, gear recommendations, course suitability, or anything else.
